Friday 12th May Coffee Morning
Wednesday 7th June Y1 & Y2 Movie Night
Saturday 8th July Summer Fair
Thursday 20th July Y2 Leavers' Disco
On Friday 12th May, families were invited to join us for coffee and cake. It was lovely to take life at a slower pace for an hour or so and enjoy chatting with friends. Thank you to those who attended and to those who organised the coffee morning.
On Thursday 6th February, the defibrillator purchased by the PTFA, was delivered and installed at school. Rob, from the Charlotte and Craig Saving Hearts Foundation brought it in and talked about the work of the charity and why it is so important for schools to have one readily available. If you would like to know more about the charity please go to www.ccshf.org.uk
School staff were trained how to use the defibrillator should the need ever arise. It is situated on the wall in the small area leading into the school hall. A photograph will be uploaded to the school website and Twitter. We will register the defibrillator so that the wider community and ambulance services know that we have one in school which is available to use.
A big thank you to all of our parents who continue to support PTFA fundraising events which enabled us to make this purchase.
On Tuesday 13th December, all of the children enjoyed the Christmas disco. There were some very impressive moves on the dance floor! As you will see from some slightly blurry pictures below the children couldn't keep still! I think the snow machine was a real hit!
On Friday 18th November, the children came in non-uniform to raise money for Children in Need. Each child brought in £1 for the privilege of wearing their own clothes which will be donated to Children in Need. A number of parents donated more than £1 for which we are very grateful. Mrs Gray talked to the children in assembly about why we are raising money and how it will help other children have opportunities they would not experience if it was not for the money raised. All of the children wore spots or bright colours and many (including Mrs Gray) had pudsey ears or other pudsey themed items. We managed to raise £265. Thank you!
On Thursday 17th November we hosted our first quiz night of the year with six teams competing for the coveted title of Quiz Champions! The honours went to 'Where's the chips?' who were clear winners, each receiving a bottle of wine. We held a raffle and stand up bingo as well as enjoying fish and chips part way through the quiz. All of this contirbuted to a really enjoyable evening. We shall look to hold another Quiz night later in the year and hope that even more parents/carers will join us. A total of £118 was raised on the night which will be matched by the Royal Mail to give a total of £336 to go towards the items KS1 staff have requested. Many thanks to all who supported this event.
We had lots of wonderful entries for our design a firework competition. It made the judges' decision of who to award the first and second prizes to very difficult indeed!
Each class was awarded a first and second prize. Medals, which were kindly donated by Royal Mail were given to the children and the winner was also given a prize.
All of the winning entries will be displayed in school alongside the children's photos. We will send home the winning entries at the end of term. All other entries will be sent home in the next couple of weeks.
As well as donating medals, Royal Mail also provided funding for craft supplies for school. We are very grateful for their support for this event. They are also looking to support other PTFA fundraising activities and so we will keep you informed about this.
Thank you for your support for this event.
